Equipment

I can borrow any or all of the following from work:

  • Two Battery backups, untested
  • Multiple heavy duty power strips
  • Two 19" LCD monitors with Composite video inputs
  • PC: Optiplex GX280 with Windows XP
  • 10/100 Network switch

Things I have at home:

  • Battery backup, untested
  • 17" and 19" LCDs for computers
  • DEC VT320 (serial) dumb terminal (if we have a use for it)

Things already at the church

  • 15" LCD for computer
  • Two small color video monitors (Commodore and Apple monitors)
  • Four small TVs with video inputs
  • 4-input 1-output audio/video switch

Things to be done

Camera control

  • Test video capture card (pending adapter arrival)
  • Test serial card
  • Complete software
  • Set up universal remote for monitors to be able to select video input source instead of antenna

Planning

  • Determine location of cameras
  • Plan any additions to booth for monitors
  • Determine what equipment will be sharing power with the spot-lights (for UPS placement)
  • Determine monitor and recording configuration
    • What video sources do we have?
    • What do we want to record?
    • What do we want to monitor?

Infrastructure

  • Run video and data cables to camera positions
    • A/V patch panel
  • Move audio source from existing recording PC to PC set up in booth (I have an easy plan for this)
  • Build cables for monitors, recording

Equipment installation

  • Booth modifications
  • Mount cameras
  • Mount monitors

Testing

  • Make sure audio and video records properly
    • No noise in the audio
